This blog has been created in memory of a very special friend who unfortunatly chose to leave us before his time. I cant imagine the sadness he must of carried in his heart to feel the need to go home like he did.
I hope to create a space here to honor his memory. Please help me by adding comments and pics. I will also be putting up a Myspace page so we can connect and share.
He was " a Champion"...he just didnt see it!
Love you Billy ;-(
we are praying you are at peace,

Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak Whispers the o'er-fraught heart and bids it break. ~ William Shakespeare Rest In Peace Billy! 6*16*09 you will never be forgotten! ♥ XOXO ~Mari

ReplyDeleteBilly was the first person I met when I moved to Meriden in '78. I moved to Newton St., I walked into Roger Sherman field and Billy was lying down catching some rays. I was looking for some kids to play baseball. Billy and I threw the ball around for awhile. I was 14 at the time, I think Bill is 3 or 4 years older, so I thought that was pretty cool, an older dude playing catch with a kid. Billy was like that. That was just the beginning of my friendship with Bill. I've shared many good times with him. oh yeah, hears another one. I remember at Billy's 30th birthday party, someone said to look outside, that there was a "Clamsman" coming down the street and here comes Ricky dressed up in a white robe and big white clam on his head, I can still see it now. Later Billy got a good buzz and proceded to slide down the stairs.
ReplyDeleteBilly........ where ever you are, I hope you find peace
your friend forever.... FrancoBolo
I met Billy up at the Spot and have been very good friends with him ever since, at least twenty years, now. Through all the times, I hung out with him, he was always joking around. When I went over to the bar it was like when Norm walks into Cheers, "HEY, TOMMY B!"
ReplyDeleteI played a bunch of Queen for him last night at the bar. I'll miss him deeply...
Billy was an AWESOME guy. He always cheered everyone up when they were down. It is so awkward going to the bar and no Billy. I was there yesterday. Queen and Motley Crue played and played. Billy touched so many people. He will be deeply missed. I'm still in shock and don't want to believe it. I will miss you terribly Billy Boy!! May you rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteBilly we had many a great times. The whole crew. I had run into you not to long ago and 1st thing you said was hey JB were have you been. 1st one to call me that. Had that twinkle in your eye and smile. I will miss you but your memories will last. Your name is carved at Happy Acres and in my heart. Sorry I wasn't there to be the friend you must have needed.
ReplyDeleteWhen you lost your job,
ReplyDeleteJC's just wasn't the same
I had hoped things would blow over
and you'd be back again
No one could ever truly know
what was on your mind
Or the hopelessness you felt
you're life so unkind
You were always so good to me
I loved your smile
Sharing laughter, having fun,
a friend so worthwhile
I looked forward to Sunday's
always asking you to sing
You always said "no",
then did something so amazing
I could tell you enjoyed singing
the entire bar enjoyed it too!
You were now our singing bartender
but now I'm bluer than blue
You had so many people wanting
to be there for you
You could have let us help
our love for you so true
Why you chose the path you took
so final and painful
Has left a hole in my heart
and pain in my soul
I'll always miss you Billy
what more can I say
Please wake me from this nightmare
and tell me you're okay!
sad to hear this. hope ya found the peace you were looking for.

I will miss you ! I hope you found the peace you were looking for. Lots of Love and Prayer are sent your way.
